Lando Norris Leads Oscar Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
The British driver has outscored Oscar Piastri at all of the last five race weekends.
The McLaren driver edged out fellow driver and title rival Oscar Piastri for the top spot in the dying seconds of the practice session at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Norris, who seized the points lead from his teammate by a single point after winning in Mexico City a fortnight back, topped the Melbourne-born driver by a tiny margin of 0.023secs.
Until that point, Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver for most of the session before the sprint shootout set to begin at 18:30 GMT.
The Red Bull star, the only other driver in the points battle, lying with a 36-point deficit Norris, was classified in P17 as his team followed a unique setup.
His teammate the Japanese driver was the sole competitor to go off, though minor, when he spun at corner four early in the session.
Tsunoda slid over the track edges before sliding over the run-off area, and was blessed to avoid just a slight brush of the fence.
The Ferrari of the seven-time champion also had a spin, at the final moments of the session, rotating twice through the fast downhill Mergulho corner approaching the final bend on to the main straight.
The veteran ended the session in P19, just behind teammate Charles Leclerc.
The McLaren pair were significantly quicker of the remaining drivers, with the German's car P3, over half a second slower than Piastri's best.
The Aston Martin of the Spanish driver was fourth quickest, with Sauber's Gabriel Bortoleto in front of the Mercedes of Russell and the Alpine of Gasly and the Williams of Carlos Sainz.
